To begin with, Class of Business training provides broad knowledge of a recognised class of financial products. Moreover, this course introduces forex market structure, terminology, role players, instruments, risks and regulation.

COB and product-specific training

Importantly, COB training covers the wider foreign-exchange investment class. By comparison, product-specific training addresses a particular provider’s product features, rules, risks and conditions.

Forex COB Regulatory Reference

Specifically, Board Notice 194 of 2017 sets out the Fit and Proper Requirements for financial services providers and includes Class of Business training within the competence framework. However, an FSP must still confirm each person’s requirements with reference to the role, financial service, product category, supervision status and any applicable exemption.
