The New Venture Creation Skills Programme (SP 210401) is a 32-credit, NQF Level 2 programme accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). It prepares you to operate and grow a small business by combining entrepreneurship theory, practical projects and essential compliance knowledge.
The programme is designed especially for youth, emerging entrepreneurs, informal traders and community-based businesses in township and rural areas – but is just as valuable if you’re planning a formal startup or side-hustle.

Across 12 structured topics, you will build knowledge and practical skills in areas such as:
- Being an Entrepreneur – mindset, resilience, ethics and real-world case studies.

- A final Summative Business Plan Project where you apply everything you’ve learned to develop a practical business plan for your own idea.
All assessments follow QCTO quality requirements and contribute towards the 32 credits of this skills programme.
